Natural ways to keep cockroaches at bay this summer

Pests

Cockroaches are the most irritating threat to your household’s health. Getting rid of cockroaches is not an easy task as these pests can easily find a crack and hide until everyone falls asleep. In fact, you will not be able to use harmful chemicals or pesticides efficiently as they might end up contaminating everything. There are ways you can reduce the infestation to a minimum.

Ways to keep cockroaches at bay

This summer, try these tips to keep cockroaches from entering your home and making it a breeding ground. Follow these tips to stop them from entering your bins and make your home a safe place again.

  • Clean thoroughly

Cockroaches come out every night in search of food. If you find cockroaches frequently, you are not cleaning your kitchen and dining tables properly. Your house needs to be neat and clean to stop cockroaches from finding food. A daily 15-minutes span is enough for you to clean your kitchen, stovetop, and counters. In fact, sweeping floors before hitting the bed can also prove to be effective.

  • Sealing holes and cracks

Holes and cracks are the ideal places for cockroaches to hide, lay eggs, rest, and thrive. In fact, a cluttered space is also a good hiding and breeding ground. Either mend the holes and cracks or use insecticides to get rid of cockroaches.

  • Water leak

Cockroaches need moisture and water to live for months. This is why they are found in a cluster near leaky pipes, under the basin or sinks. A tiny leak can attract a lot of cockroaches. Mend the leaks and ensure no dripping taps in the house.

  • Declutter your space

Get rid of storing anything you find relevant. In most of the cases, cockroaches and other pests find unused boxes to nest and thrive. The first thing you have to do is to make every corner of your home visible and de-cluttered.

  • Using cockroach bait

A cockroach-bait near the bin will give you a higher chance to catch most of them in a single shot. A simple sugar solution with boric acid is ideal to attract roaches and kill them. Boric acid is not toxic for your family members or pets.

  • Call the experts

If you want a permanent solution from the menace, you can always call the pest control experts and get a professional service. They will take care of every corner and ensure a cockroach-free space to live in peacefully.

This is how you can keep your home free from roaches this summer.
